Porcelain Fillings

Cosmetic Dentist serving Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham and Cary , NC.

J. Steven Baker, DDS, LVIF

Dr. Baker offers porcelain fillings to North Carolina patients who have teeth affected by mild decay.

  • Fillings stop the spread of decay
  • They protect the strength and function of teeth
  • They may also be used to correct uneven tooth surfaces for an improved bite

The porcelain fillings procedure

During the porcelain filling procedure, Dr. Baker will remove all the decayed or damaged tooth tissue with an advanced dental drill. Once this material has been removed, Dr. Baker will take an impression of the tooth. This impression will be sent to a dental lab where your custom-made porcelain filling will be created.

After the impression has been taken, Dr. Baker will fit your tooth with a temporary filling that you will use until the permanent porcelain filling is finished.

Then the porcelain filling has been created, the dental lab will send it to Dr. Baker’s Raleigh cosmetic dentistry office. You will be invited back to the office so that your temporary filling can be removed and the porcelain filling can be permanently bonded in place.

The finished result is a custom dental restoration that perfectly matched the shape, size, color, and translucency of your natural teeth. Porcelain filling also restore the strength and integrity where a composite or metal filling may not be able to.
